Artist
Statement
Through
my use of color and texture, I create raw artistic pieces that reveal
a sense of depth and beauty. My paintings feature a multitude of layers
and colors, the two components of art I am most passionate about. I
share what I love about art with you by composing paintings that engage
the eyes and offer something new every time you look at them. |
Artist Bio
Colors
and textures are what move Lori Messler, a self-taught artist who is
known locally for transforming peoples’ homes into unique works
of art. Since childhood, Lori has always been involved in some form
of art, including painting, floral design, jewelry-making and fashion.
Born in East Windsor, NJ, Lori moved to Atlanta in 1991. In 2003, after
engaging in a personal home painting project, she realized her professional
purpose in life was to be an artist. Shortly thereafter, she started
Art de Faux, her multi-faceted business that includes decorative finishes,
fine art and interior design.
Lori is fulfilled by the act of creating, something that also serves
as a primary means for her self-expression. Featuring multiple layers
and colors, her paintings are raw artistic pieces that reveal a sense
of depth and beauty. She has been commissioned by many local residents
to create these original paintings for their homes and businesses, including
the owner of KoKo Ri Boutique. Her artwork has been shown at Demure
Boutique and Underground Atlanta and she has contributed pieces to various
charity auctions.
With regard to decorative finishes, Lori has worked her magic on countless
residential and commercial projects throughout the Southeast. Her repertoire
includes timeless finishes, aged techniques, plaster alternatives and
metallic embellishments, to name a few. One of her many noted projects
is Café Dupri, the Atlanta restaurant owned by music mogul Jermaine
Dupri.
